PWS 26 is a Polish, single-engine, training and training aircraft in a mixed biplane structure from the World War II period. The power unit was an Avia-Wright Whirlwind J5 engine with a capacity of 240HP. PWS-26 was created as a far-reaching modernization of the PWS-16 aircraft, and his father was also Eng. A. Bobek-Zdaniewski. The flight of the prototype took place in 1935, and mass production started in 1937. The aircraft was manufactured by the Podlasie Aircraft Factory. The machine was intended for training in shooting, acrobatics and bombardment from diving and level flight. Compared to the PWS-16, the structure of the aircraft has been strengthened and adapted to inverted flights, a photo rifle and sight windows in the bottom of the fuselage have been installed. In addition, minor design and operational improvements were introduced.
